Blowing Rock Trip 2000
Forty-three of our church family left on Memorial Day weekend and headed for the NC mountains for a time of fun, relaxation, and Christian fellowship. We stayed at the Appalachian Advent Christian Campground in Blowing Rock. The days' activities included visiting Grandfather Mountain (some hiked to the top while others visited the animal habitats and the mile-high swinging bridge), horseback riding, and canoeing. Groups went to the Linville Caverns and the town of Blowing Rock (quaint shops and other sightseeing), and we all enjoyed eating at the Daniel Boone Restaurant. Evenings were spent relaxing and enjoying visiting and playing games with Christian friends. We started and ended each day with a devotional time together, and the final evening we had a service in the chapel with singing and testimonies.
