The Pastor's Corner

Rev. Wayne Lucas

Back on Homecoming Day after the invitational, the altar was full to overflowing with God's people here at Grace rededicating their lives to lift up the Name of Jesus and especially committing to special prayer for their neighbors. Now neighbors do not have to be geographically adjacent; they may be schoolmates, family, co-workers, friends, bosses, or they may be right next door. We committed to pray for five blessings for five neighbors, five minutes a day, five days a week, for five weeks, and then seek God's next step after that. You may continue to pray for the same neighbors, part of the same, or God may have blessed so greatly that it is time to go on to the next set of neighbors. This Light House Prayer system was presented to us at the SACA meeting in Garner with wonderful examples of answered prayer. Many have begun this consecrated prayer together here at Grace; we too have been blessed already by His mercy and power. In the Youth Meetings the past few weeks the youth shared some of their blessings: a mother doing much better on cancer treatments and now just on pills, improved students' attitudes and actions at school, and teams that still pause for prayer before practice and games. Some of the adults shared about a spouse who had improved greatly on a dependence problem, two special open doors for an adult to give personal testimony about salvation only in Jesus, and another about that much needed job and peace. Wow! These are just a few! Remember the word "bless" as you pray: Body needs, Labor and work needs, Emotional needs, Social and family needs, and Spiritual needs and salvation. Keep up the good work and share your blessings!
